The first time I met Stephanie was at a business lunch. She had just started working at the Baltimore Aquarium on the events side and had seen weddings I had photographed there and loved my work! We met to talk about photographing weddings at the Aquarium, but during the meeting, I also found out she was engaged. At the time, she had said they weren’t in a rush to get married and she honestly didn’t know if they would have a typical wedding. I didn’t think anything of it until I received an email from her about a year later. They had set a date and wanted me to photograph their wedding! Yay! I was so excited. I met with Stephanie & Chris at Pazo in Baltimore and we ate/drank and chatted….and honestly hardly talked about the wedding at all. It was great to get to know Chris since I had never met him before and of course get to know Stephanie better. These two are seriously the nicest and sweetest ever and I’m so happy I was able to photograph their wedding.

Fast forward to the wedding day at Silver Swan Bayside on the Eastern Shore. The forecast called for rain (just like it did every single other weekend in May). When you are getting married on the waterfront and that is the main reason you choose the venue, this is not something you want to hear. BUT Stephanie & Chris handled the news like a champ and we hurried through portraits during the breaks in the rain. Luckily the rain was on and off again during portraits so we were still able to get some fabulous outdoor photos. The ceremony was moved inside but no problem because with the glass doors/windows throughout, you still had the view and the ceremony became much more intimate. And the best thing is these two are married! They wrote their own vows and their joy beamed from ear to ear all night long. After dinner and toasts, it was time to get this party started and party is what this crew did! I LOVE seeing that not only is the couple having a great time but the guests are too and this was one of those weddings. Soooo much fun dancing! Big congrats to Stephanie and Chris and I’m so excited I could be a part of your day!
