First off, we all know that proposals are some of my favorite things to photograph which is probably why I photograph so many. Steven’s proposal to Alexis was no exception. These two are the cutest together! Typically I don’t get to meet my proposal couples until after the proposal since they don’t usually warrant an in person meeting. But since Steven lives close to me, he decided to drop off his payment at my house which was great because I was able to meet him in person. He gushed about Alexis and even without knowing her yet, I could tell these two would be fun to photograph. On the day of the proposal, I arrived early to Nick’s Fish House in Baltimore, Maryland and introduced myself to Alexis’s and Steven’s family who had arrived early as well. They were waiting to not only watch the proposal but then to surprise Alexis that they were there. When Alexis & Steven arrived, Steven told Alexis he wanted to walk to the pier to see the beautiful waterfront view. I waited for them to walk past me on the pier and then started to photograph them. The lighting happened to be perfect–not sure if Steven planned it that way or not, but it was gorgeous! After a sweet proposal and lots of non stop hugs, Alexis turned around to be surprised by me photographing the whole thing and then to their families watching from the deck at Nick’s Fish House. There were more hugs and congratulations and after a few quick portraits, I set these two on their way to celebrate!

I’m always so honored when I’m invited to photograph such a special time in someone’s life. Big congrats to Alexis and Steven and I hope the wedding planning has begun!
