When I first met Alissa & her mom at their consultation, we hit it off right away. Alissa is the youngest of three sisters and I am the oldest of three sisters. Hearing Alissa talk about her sisters made me think of the bond my sisters and I have. Plus, Alissa is about the sweetest person you will ever meet so there really isn’t much to love. For the entire year of planning, Alissa had dreamed of getting married on the waterfront at the gorgeous Great Oak Manor in Chestertown, Maryland on the Eastern Shore. Mother Nature had different plans. After the getting ready portion of the day, we knew the rain was coming at some point. I hurried this crew outside to get as many outdoor shots as we could before the rain came. We were cut a little short but managed to get some amazing photographs outside and then continued shooting inside. The ceremony had to be moved inside as well but honestly at the end of the day, Alissa & Sam were married and Alissa handled the news like a pro. And besides, we wouldn’t have had those gorgeous skies to work with if the rain hadn’t been imminent during portraits. I think it all worked out :). After the ceremony, the party started in a tented reception and the rain left. This crew kept the dance floor packed ALL night and it was very entertaining to watch if I do say so myself. Alissa & Sam are beautiful inside and out (seriously, look at both of their moms–these two have some really great genes going on!) and I’m so very honored that I was able to get to know these two and photograph the memories of their wedding day!
