I absolutely love surprises and of course I love weddings so it should be no surprise that photographing proposals is one of my favorite things to photograph. Mike contacted me at the end of May to tell me he had bought Annie’s engagement ring. These two have quite the busy schedules so finding that perfect day to propose took some time but it was worth the wait because the proposal day was absolutely perfect! Annie and Mike had plans to see an early show before dinner at The Charleston. In between these two activities, they had drinks at Wit & Wisdom in the Fours Seasons Baltimore. When they exited, I was waiting for them and followed behind them as I pretended to be a tourist taking pictures of the water. Mike walked Annie right in front of the Four Seasons to a part of the promenade that was surprisingly not busy. They took some selfies and I moved myself into the spot for the proposal that I knew was going to happen at any moment. Mike started saying what I’m assuming were some really sweet things because I could see that Annie knew what was about to happen because she started crying. Mike positioned Annie in the perfect light (even though I’m sure he didn’t know he was doing it, but at any rate, I’m glad he did) and got down on one knee. Annie was so happy and surprised. And right at that moment, a water taxi full of tourists drove by and started cheering. Such a perfect evening and I’m so happy I could be a part of it. Congrats to Annie & Mike!
