The off season this year was full of some crazy (and of course fun) travel time for me. Within a two month period, I visited San Diego, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; Page, Arizona; Knoxville, Tennessee; Miami, Florida; and Athens and Santorini, Greece (blog post for that trip coming soon). I am seriously travel obsessed so taking this many trips shouldn’t really be much of a surprise to anyone.
After spending a week in Vegas for the WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) annual conference, a group of Baltimore/DC wedding photographers and I decided to head west for three days. This was the second year such a trip was taken and it will continue to be an annual event. This year we went to Page, Arizona. The first day we visited Lower Antelope Canyon which is definitely one of the coolest things I have seen. Lower Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon where you are able to walk at the bottom and in between the walls of the canyon. I love how some of the photos I took here look abstract. That evening we visited Horseshoe Bend for sunset which was absolutely breathtaking. The following day, we rented a boat (highly recommend) and toured around Lake Powell which is right across the border in Utah. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for this excursion as the clouds were stunning and left a beautiful reflection on the water. And of course, we anchored, set up lights, and had a photo shoot in the middle of the lake on the boat. After cooking out that evening, we experimented with some long exposures and night photography which is always fun. I love mixing my photography up and trying new things. The last day, we took a kayaking tour of Lake Powell. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures (besides IPhone photos) because I didn’t want to bring my camera in a kayak, but it was absolutely amazing and so much fun!
I don’t think I would be happy in life if it weren’t constantly full of adventures. I’m so lucky to have a group of people who feel the same way. I can’t wait until next year!
If you didn’t see the video of our trip (because every trip has a professional videographer documenting everything, right?), you can view it here.
Lastly and most importantly, if you would like to purchase any of the photos you see below as a print or canvas, you can go here. I will definitely be ordering a large canvas of the abstract Lower Antelope Canyon images for my house! Can’t wait until it is delivered!
