Christina & Ryan were calm, cool (alright, maybe not temperature cool because it was actually really hot), and collected on their wedding day. I started the day off at one of Christina’s friend’s house for Christina’s getting ready which was really close to the venue. We then headed over to the absolutely gorgeous Glen Ellen Farm. If you are looking for an outdoor, tented wedding, this place has it all–a beautiful pond, out-of-this world flower gardens, a beach, an old farmhouse, and rustic buildings. It is a new wedding venue in Frederick so if you haven’t heard of it, that is probably why. Anyway, Christina & Ryan decided to do a first look which is pretty standard in most weddings today. But, they did something different during their first look which I thought was such a great idea. They read their vows that they had written to one another. During a couple’s first look, I’m basically the only person around and I try to stay as far away as possible so the moment ends up being a really intimate time between a couple. I think saying your vows during the first look is a great alternative if a couple is nervous in front of a large crowd or just wants vows that are more private. I had never seen this done before and I thought it was a great idea! These two were troopers cuddling when the the weather was blistering hot during portraits. And I’m glad they did so we could take advantage of the gorgeous grounds of Glen Ellen Farm. After the ceremony, toasts, dances, and more dancing, the evening came to a close. The day and evening seemed to fly by with these two and I’m so excited I could be a part of their day. Now, I can’t wait to hear about their amazing honeymoon to Italy!
