I am so excited to announce that on July 5, I had not one but two of my engagement sessions featured on two of the best wedding blogs out there. Ashley & Christopher’s lakeside engagement session was featured on Bayside Bride and Kate and Jack’s Adventure Park USA engagement session was featured on United with Love. It is always such an honor when my work is featured on blogs like these. If you are looking for wedding inspirations (and who getting married isn’t right?), then make sure to follow these two blogs for some fabulous ideas.
I absolutely love photographing engagement sessions. And I absolutely love photographing them even more when the couple is up for doing something creative that portrays their personalities as a couple. Incorporating something into an engagement session not only is more fun but also makes the photos that much more meaningful to the couple. I have had couples wear jerseys, canoe, ride a motorcycle, play frisbee golf, eat ice-cream, play in the rain, play laser tag, ride a sailboat, play miniature golf, hike, and the list could go on and on. Not only does having an activity make the photographs more meaningful and fun but choosing a location is also important. The location could be the location of your first date, first kiss, or just a place you enjoy going together. These types of engagement sessions are definitely my favorite. From a photography perspective, engagement sessions have many advantages. Besides the fact that you will get some amazing images of yourselves in regular clothes, engagement sessions also prepare you for your wedding day photographs. With photography, the more relaxed you are, the better you will photograph. During an engagement session, I really have time to get to know a couple and vice versa. I will learn what will make you laugh, what poses work best for you, and what you really want out of your photographs. You will learn how I run a photo session and you will trust me completely to deliver beautiful images to you…..even if I ask you to do something a little (ok a lot) off the wall. Think of an engagement session like a trial run before your wedding day. You will know exactly what to expect come wedding day and nothing will be a surprise. Because of all these reasons, I offer an engagement session in all of my collections. That is how important I believe engagement sessions are to the entire photography experience!
I’m so excited to photograph Kate & Jack and Ashley & Christopher’s weddings in the coming months!! Stay tuned.
