Katie & I first met when she moved to Baltimore. We bonded over the fact that we were both from the South and like to dance like no one is watching. So, I was super excited when I received a text from her last December saying, “I might be needing a photographer soon.” I was so happy for her and so excited I would be the one photographing her beautiful wedding day.
I started the day with Katie and her bridesmaids at the Loews Hotel Annapolis. We had the first look in Annapolis and then headed over to the gorgeous Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in Stevensville, Maryland for more portraits, the wedding, and the reception. If you haven’t visited this venue yet, you need to check it out. It is right along the water with a gorgeous view of the bridge. I could photograph here for days and not get bored. Elizabeth Bailey Weddings and her team planned and coordinated everything for this wedding. They did a fabulous job as always and I absolutely love working with them! And I was finally able to work with one of my former brides who helps out Elizabeth Bailey Weddings. Yay!
Since Katie is from the South and many of their guests ventured North for the wedding day, they decided to bring some southern charm to this northern wedding. The blue grass band, Darla Jean and the Somethin’ or Others played during the ceremony and cocktail hour. Katie’s bouquet by Flower Follies was probably one of the prettiest bouquets I have ever seen. Katie’s grandmother’s broaches were mixed in with the gorgeous flowers. The reception was kept social by a mix of high and low tables and stations offering food throughout the evening. Since I had danced the night away with many of the bridesmaids and guests in the past, I knew that this reception was going to be quite the celebration. It was no surprise to me that Katie had a tray full of beads, sunglasses, and tambourines waiting for guests as they entered the Sunset Ballroom. Another Level kept things funky and kept guests on the dance floor all night long. Various pies from Cakes and Confections were cut instead of the traditional wedding cake. French fries were served latenight and guests received Georgia Peach jam as they left.
So much fun and I was so honored to be able to photographKatie and Sean’s wedding. The wedding was stunning and Katie looked absolutely stunning. I love these two and couldn’t be happier for them.
