Justin first contacted me about a month before he planned to propose to Kayla. He had this awesome master plan and he knew exactly how he wanted everything to go down. He even sent me an eighteen page powerpoint explaining everything (which was absolutely adorable). In the powerpoint, he had an overall map that had little icons where everyone would be standing during the proposal as well as directions with pictures of how to get to “the spot” in the Kennedy Center. This was actually very helpful since the Kennedy Center is such a massive building and I had never been there before. At any rate, I would guess to say that Justin is a super organized kind of guy. And me being a super organized kind of girl, I know that the more overly organized you are about something, the more it means to you. And this proposal definitely was very special to Justin.
Kayla thought they were meeting some of Justin’s old work buddies for a show at the Kennedy Center….hence, how he got her all dressed up during the middle of the afternoon. They decided to “wait” for the guys on the terrace that overlooks the Potomac River and the Lincoln Memorial. Well the guys never showed up and instead Justin got down on one knee. Even though they didn’t get to see the show, I think this day worked out ok for Kayla :). Oh and Justin had also organized family members to be in town from Texas for the big surprise. They were watching the proposal from the inside but waited to to surprise Kayla at a dinner later that evening that Justin had arranged.
Great job on the proposal Justin and BIG CONGRATS to both you and Kayla!
