I’ve realized I photograph weddings mainly for the smiles.  I’m not talking about the cheesy, look at me smiles.  I’m talking about the pure, overjoyed, my heart is overflowing natural smiles.  The kind when a person doesn’t know they are being photographed.  You don’t see this type of smile all the time, but it does show up at weddings and when it happens, I can’t help but feel that kind of happiness too.  And even better, I get to relive those moments as I’m editing photos which reminds me again why I love what I do so much.

This type of smile was definitely in abundance at Laura & Beth’s wedding.  I am pretty sure these brides had this smile on their faces their entire wedding day.  Oh, and their family and friends did as well.  So much joy at this wedding!  The ceremony was held at the gorgeous, gorgeous First & Franklin Presbyterian Church.  The wedding ceremony included hymns and readings by friends and family as well as communion.  After the ceremony, everyone headed over to Gertrude’s at the Baltimore Museum of Art for the wedding reception. Various guests gave heart-touching toasts and the evening concluded with dinner and of course dancing.  Oh, and these two had the best guest gifts ever.  Laura actually made pottery bowls for every single guest.  Each bowl was unique and was glazed in two different colors to represent two becoming one.  I can’t even begin to imagine how long this must have taken her. Big congrats to Laura & Beth! So happy I could photograph their wedding day!
