Shania & David’s wedding was jam packed full of excitement from beginning to end. The entire getting ready, ceremony, and reception took place at Fairhaven Landing, the home of David’s parents. The house which sits along the Chesapeake Bay is surrounded by beautiful trees and landscaping which makes it a perfect spot for a wedding. I am seriously in love with Shania’s oatmeal colored WToo wedding dress. I think it might be my favorite dress that I have ever photographed. And she looked absolutely stunning in it! Oh, and did I mention her bouquet by Rhonda Kaplan Floral Design? So, so gorgeous! After the getting ready photos, guests gathered before the ceremony for a cocktail hour overlooking the water. The ceremony was held on the back terrace of the house. Both the uncle of the bride and a friend of the groom officiated the ceremony. Shania & David wrote their own vows which were so sweet and from the heart. These two have such a mature way at looking at marriage and I appreciate and admire that about them. After the ceremony, we took a few more photos and it was time for the reception to begin.
The reception was held at the pool area that was adjacent to the house. Uplighting and dimly lit candles created a very romantic and upscale ambiance. Sequins, feathers, and hints of pink were spread throughout the area. Katie from Pure Whimsy Events did an absolutely amazing job making sure everything looked just perfect. A tasting menu was served throughout the evening which was such a creative idea and was just one more way that Shania & David added their own personal touch to their big day. After introductions and toasts, some very special performers danced for everyone. Belly dancers! Shania has taken belly dancing up as a hobby and her fellow dancers were nice enough to perform at her wedding. It was so much fun for everyone to watch….and fun to photograph. Great job ladies! As the night continued, Shania & David cut the cake and the fireworks immediately began. Literally. They had a surprise fireworks show for their guests. After a little bit of dancing, Shania & David left their wedding with a sparkler exit.
