I was so excited to once again be able to offer my services to the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for their annual Recognition event.  I photographed this event last year as well and it was amazing! This year, the event was held at the Padonia Park Club in Cockeysville.  Staff and board member of SGK presented awards and grants to various organizations and individuals throughout the sate of Maryland.  In total, more than $2.2 million was awarded to 26 grant programs.  The work this group does is so wonderful and the strides they have made to treat and prevent breast cancer is absolutely wonderful! I applaud and look up to all of the women and men who have dedicated so much of themselves to this organization.

I look forward to continuing to work with SGK in remembrance of my own mother who lost her battle to breast cancer 18 months ago.  In addition, an incredible young woman I went to high school with recently lost her battle leaving behind her husband and two young children.  I dedicate this post to the Slagle/Roback family as they continue to grieve their recent loss.
