Vintage Affairs | Event Rentals | Baltimore Wedding Photographer

I attend a lot of wedding industry networking events (what can I say, I like to meet new people and drink wine) and photograph a lot of weddings.  Because of this I meet a lot of really cool vendors within the wedding industry.  I always get so excited when I see a new venue or hear about a new vendor that has something special to offer their brides.  I’ve always thought to myself, oh this vendor would be so perfect for this couple or this wedding.  Now obviously, the wedding planner/stylist will have tons of advice for brides based on their expert knowledge.  But I thought I could offer a different perspective so I’m starting a new segment of my blog that highlights different vendors or venues.  My perspective will obviously be from a photographer’s perspective and why I think the venue/vendor will add to the quality of the photographs on your wedding day.

I’m starting off with an Event Rental company called Vintage Affairs.  I first met Juli from Vintage Affairs at a MWPA meeting. It was sort of funny because I had heard about Vintage Affairs grand opening through an email I had received a couple of months earlier.  I had even mentioned the company to a planner friend of mine, Anna from Anna K Events as we were working on a special styled shoot.  After talking with Juli at MWPA, we both agreed that Anna and I should come to her warehouse in Elkridge to check out everything that she had.

Wow! I’m not sure I could have been prepared for all of the wonderful things she had to offer.  Anything vintage and cool, Juli has it.  Anything from farm tables to church pews; from suitcases to old books; from chandalears to stain glass doors; from vintage china to candelabras; and so much more. Did I mention she has an antique horse buggy and old coke bottles?  Now obviously these pieces could make for a fun/cool wedding but why is this important from a photography perspective?  Well…..its different.  Most rental companies offer almost the exact same thing.  Juli offers something unique to a niche market.  Weddings like this are the ones that get published by blogs like Style Me Pretty and Ruffled.  And what bride doesn’t want her entire year of hard work and planning to be oh’d and ah’d by future brides?  These types of blogs look for fun and innovative ways of doing things.  Something that isn’t typical or expected.  As a photographer, there is just so much more to photograph detail wise when pieces like these are utilized.  And that is what those blogs are looking for–details!

Below are some of my favorite pieces.  I’m not giving away anything yet, but Anna and I might have liked Vintage Affairs so much that you might be seeing some really special (alright, REALLY, REALLY AWESOME AND AMAZING) images coming your way soon so make sure to keep checking the blog.

Thanks for doing this write-up! We wanted to go when it was the open house but never made it. Good to see the selections and excited to see your next blog write-up on Vintage Rentals. Still have to plan a visit to the warehouse.
